Mine Design Engineering provides specialized consulting services to the mining and civil industries. Areas of expertise include rock engineering for underground and surface applications, geomechanics, numerical modelling, landslide mechanics, mine backfill, ground monitoring and rockmass characterization. MDEng is a new company (incorporated October, 2010) founded by Dr. Will Bawden CEO and Peter Lausch COO. MDEng is a sister company to Mine Design Technologies (MDT), producer of high technology instrumentation for the mining and heavy civil industries. The creation of MDEng takes advantage of the synergies between the manufacturing and implementation of instrumentation and its use in engineering design.
